D35, M455 - Best 18 Miles Yet

Low Gap, TN - Got no sleep, but survived worst thunderstorm I've ever been outside in thanks to this very rare tarped shelter.

The day started out rainy and cold, then turned overcast and windy, but by 2p was partly sunny with a chill breeze. The trail was super easy with only 3000' ascent over 19 gentle, rolling miles.

Came across biggest AT grave I've seen... must be TN! It's on the peak of a great hill.

Here's his view...

Sucks that everything is blocked by trees but glad I'm not hiking later when there's NO view. 98% would be Green Tunnel!

Now zoom in on the green pasture 7mi away on left side of pic above.

Here we are 2hrs later. What a treat to walk thru a mile of lush farmland.

Got to Rt421 and setup camp. Meeting my next zero day hosts at 10a when they'll get my gear and let me slack pack 15mi to Damascus.

This would be wa-a-ay harder without all my friends prayers and support!

  2. Yes, prayers are so important. Can you share with us how Jesus talks with you on your journey? How is this time changing your spiritual life.

    1. He reminds me daily it's about people and relationship... NOT miles or views. They should rename this The Friendship Trail
