Tom & Annette - True Spirit of Trail Angels

These two moved to Hiawasee, GA to practice being Trail Angels... and I was their first tenant! It was a God thing because I needed someone to mail stuff home and Tom had just pulled over at a trailhead to call his wife.

He offered to let me spend the night just as my first rain (a torrential downpour) hit.

Tom let me test numerous glasses of his homemade beer and grilled oysters.

The next day they kept my stuff so I could slack pack 17 miles.

As expert hikers, they did so much to help me with my gear.

Meeting them has changed my heart!!!

  2. OK. I'm so glad God gave you such amazing "trail angels" with beer & oysters, and a warm bed! And a slack pack now and again seems a good plan!
